Also know by other names like ‘mirasis’, ‘dhadhis’, ‘langas’, ‘manganiyars’, ‘kalbelias’, ‘jogis’, ‘sargaras’, ‘kamads’, ‘nayaks’ or ‘thotis’ and the ‘bawaris’. Today their music can be heard all over the state and is popular even in the national and international circuits.
